Bot

We monitor the availability and performance of websites and APIs. If you see requests from us, they come from the our probe network checking an address that one of our users monitors, or that someone looked up on latency.app.

How it identifies itself

By default, probe requests send this user agent:

Latency/1.0 (+https://latency.app/bot)

What it does

• Makes lightweight availability checks: DNS, a TCP connection, a TLS handshake, and a single HTTP request to the address being checked.
• Runs on a schedule chosen by the user monitoring that address.
• Does not crawl, index, submit forms, or keep page content.

Unwanted traffic?

If our probes are reaching something they should not, report it and we will look into it quickly.
